Junior Livestock Sale

4-H & FFA

7:00 P.M.- FRIDAY

 1.    The 4-H & FFA Livestock Sale will be held in the show ring at the Fairgrounds.

 2.    Animals eligible to be sold are - market steers, market lambs, market swine, cabrito and bred heifers.
       
a.  Breeding livestock should be bred 60 days prior to sale and guaranteed bred by a veterinarian.
       
b.  Heifer must be calfhood brucellosis vaccinated before they are one year old and identified by tag or tattoo.

3.    Each exhibitor will be limited in the sale to a maximum of (2) two animals but they can not sell two of the same species.

4.    3% of each sale will be withheld on the sale of all animals to help pay livestock sale expenses.  This fee will also be assessed to animals sold to the packer if the Fair Association is responsible for any of the transaction.

5.    Exhibitors are responsible for the care and safe delivery of all animals sold in the sale.  Any exhibitor who is not present or represented at the time of delivery will have a portion of the sale price withheld to cover expenses.  Arrangements will be made to ship animals following the sale or on Saturday at 8:00 a.m.

  6.    Exhibitors must have their animal ready to go through the sale ring when called.  Otherwise, they will lose their position in the sale order and drop to the end of the sale order.

7.    No animal going through the ring can be passed out.

8.    If an animal is injured In between the show and the sale,  another project animal can be substituted by the exhibitor of the injured animal.

9.    No Booster animals will be sold through the sale ring.

10.  Weight limits:

          Steers weighing over 1300 lbs. will be sold as 1300 lbs.
         
Lambs weighing over 130 lbs. will be sold as 130 lbs.
         
Swine weighing over 260 lbs. will be sold as 260 lbs.
         
Goats and Bred Heifers will be sold by the head.

11.     All livestock need to be checked out by the designated fair superintendent before they leave the fair grounds to ensure that the proper animals are received by buyers
