Harding County's Fair Queen will be selected at the Rodeo to be held in
Roy, New Mexico on Saturday. The contest will be held under the direct
supervision of the Harding County Fair and Horse Show Association.

All contestants must notify superintendent of their intention to compete
by July 10th. Only bona fide Harding County patrons will be eligible to
enter. Starting in 2005, only Harding County 4-H or FFA members
will be eligible to enter the Fair Queen Contest.
3. Contestants must own or make arrangements for their own horse.
4. In the horsemanship contest, contestants will ride a pattern that
will be set by the judges.
5. In the personality contest, there will be questions given to the
contestants by the judges.
6. All contestants must ride in the street parade on Saturday at
10:00 a.m. (Western style). Queen must be available during the Fair for
presentation of ribbons and trophies.
7. Age limit - contestants between 9-23 inclusive.
8. Reigning queen can not run two years consecutively. Reigning queen
should help contestants for the next year.
9. All contestants will wear white shirts and blue jeans during
horsemanship.
10. Western riding rules will be used in the judging. Queens will be
awarded a buckle and crown.
11. When a contestant has been selected to compete at the State Fair,
the contestant is responsible for obtaining a sponsor. Reigning queen
will have first option to represent Harding County at the State Fair
Queen Contest.
12. The Harding County Fair and Horse Show Association will assist in
sponsoring a contestant chosen to represent Harding County at the State
Fair Queen Contest.
13. State Fair Queen rules and regulations will apply to contestants
selected to represent Harding County at the State Fair.
14. Contestants must abide by all rules and cooperate fully with
Queen Superintendent or be subject to disqualification.
