Mosquero Heliport |

| NM Department of Transportation recently built a new
public heliport in Mosquero with funds from their budget. The
heliport is owned and operated by the Village of Mosquero. The
town council is looking at using the heliport for emergency medical
transportation in coordination with the 911 and EMS services. |

| Ambulances could transport people to the waiting
helicopter and then be transported to medical facilities in nearby towns
or even UNMH in Albuquerque much faster than by ambulance. There
is hope that the funds from the Recovery Act Fund for improving or
expanding medical services in rural American will help fund an expanded
operation. |
