Mesa Theatre
There is a plan to renovate the Mesa Theater in Roy, NM.  There are several people in the community who have agreed to contribute.  There was also a $300,000.00 Capital Outlay Grant that was awarded to the Theater several years ago, but that was lost.  Application has been made to reinstate the grant. From Linda Lundeen:
My grandfather had an influential role in the development in the growth of Roy.  He owned the Pendick theatre which was sold when he moved to Albuquerque.  It then became the Mesa theatre.  My mother Allene Elizabeth Pendleton played the piano for silent movies at this theatre.  Richard owned the power company, the water tank that bore the Pendleton name.  He owned the Chevrolet Agency and the drug store.  My uncle Raymond was a NM state senator.
