Philip Joseph Archuleta, 76, died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012, at his home in Roy. He was born Dec. 9, 1935, in Roy to Antonio Archuleta and Alice (Gonzales) Archuleta. He joined the U.S. Marines during the Korean War and served as a tank commander.

After he returned from the military, Phillip worked for the Union County Leader for a few years before moving to Albuquerque, where he worked as a manager for Mariott for several years.

In addtion to his parents, Philip was preceded in death by a brother, Louie, and a sister, Becky.

He is survived by one daughter, Carmen Sanchez of Tucumcari; two sons, Anthony Archuleta and Robert Archuleta, both of Roy; one sister, Eloisa Martinez of Raton; one sister-in-law, Faye Gonzales of Tularosa; one aunt, Annie Dikeman of Roy; and several nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place and the family will have a rosary at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 3, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Roy with Fr. John Brashear as celebrant.
