Clavel Hereford cow and calf

Registered Hereford cow and calf on Clavel Ranch near Roy, NM in Harding County

Enjoy our abundant sunshine and fresh air and wide open spaces.

Travel our scenic, unspoiled, low-traffic roads.

Reach your vacation or week-end destination quickly and safely.

Our low traffic and scenic route to major skiing areas is the best choice.  Travel to Angel Fire, Red River & Taos by way of Logan and Cimarron.  Or you might want to try the even less traveled route through Wagon Mound, Ocate and Black Lake (in good weather).

Red-rock canyons, grasslands and pine forests mark the ranches and trails of this peaceful and sparsely populated area of northeastern New Mexico.

There is a vast difference of terrain within the county.  You can experience rolling plains or canyon breaks within a few minutes of driving time. The beauty of the skies and
prairies when it rains and creates lush grasslands, the colors in the skies, the sunrises and sunsets - words can not describe.

You can see for miles from the rimrocks or tops of the hills when traveling.  The lightening shows are spectacular.  And the night sky is so clear the stars practically reach down and touch a gazer's heart and soul.   There's just something about windmills against the darkening skies, sunset and sunrises... . . . .
